Wright to Lead Domestic Relations Judges in 2014-15

Licking County Domestic Relations Court Judge Richard P. Wright will serve as president of the Ohio Association of Domestic Relations Judges for 2014 and 2015 after his election Tuesday during the group’s annual winter conference.
Judge Wright is serving his first six-year term on the bench after his election in 2008. Previously, he practiced law for 21 years with his father and as a sole practitioner with Wright Law Offices located in Columbus and Newark. He earned his law degree from Capital University Law School in 1987 and was admitted to the Ohio bar later that year.
“I am honored by the trust placed in me by my fellow judges throughout Ohio,” Judge Wright said. “I look forward to helping to improve the domestic relations court system in Ohio for families going through transition and crisis.”

The association, which consists of common pleas judges having domestic relations court jurisdiction, promotes the common interests of Ohio domestic relations court judges and provides leadership for a just and effective domestic relations court system throughout the state. The association addresses issues affecting divorce, dissolution, legal separation and annulment, civil domestic violence cases, child custody, child support, parenting time issues, spousal support and other related matters, as well as court administration aspects of these issues.
