Governor Appoints Belmont County Court Judge

Albert E. Davies
Ohio Gov. John R. Kasich has appointed Judge Albert E. Davies to the Belmont County Court of Common Pleas. His term begins Aug. 6.
Judge Davies replaces Judge J. Mark Costine, who retired. Judge Davies must win in this November’s election to retain his seat for the remainder of the full term that ends Feb. 8, 2021.
Judge Davies currently serves on the Belmont County Court, Eastern Division. Previously, he was acting judge on the Belmont County Court, Western Division. He also served as a solicitor for the Village of Dillonvale, law director for the city of St. Clairsville, and general counsel for numerous school districts in the Belmont County area.
Judge Davies is a member of the Ohio State Bar Association, as well as the Belmont County Bar Association, which he previously served as president. He received his bachelor’s degree from Miami University and his law degree from the University of Toledo. He resides in St. Clairsville.
