664 Pass the July Bar Exam
The Ohio Supreme Court today released the results of the July 2017 Ohio Bar Examination, which was administered in Columbus on July 25-27.
Of the 936 applicants who sat for the exam, 664 – or 70.9 percent – received passing scores.
Among the 793 first-time applicants, 77 percent received passing scores.
A complete list of names of the successful applicants can be found on the Supreme Court’s bar exam results page. Of the two bar exams offered each year, the July bar exam draws the highest number of applicants.
Applicants who were successful on the exam and who have satisfied all of the Supreme Court’s other requirements for admission to the Ohio bar will be invited to take the attorney oath of office during two special public sessions of the Supreme Court on Nov. 13. The oath will be administered at 10:30 a.m. and 2 p.m. at the Ohio Theatre, 39 E. State St., Columbus.
Article IV, Section 2(B) (1)(g) of the Ohio Constitution grants the Supreme Court exclusive jurisdiction to regulate admission to the practice of law in Ohio. The Court’s Office of Bar Admissions oversees the admissions process.
Ohio’s next bar exam will be conducted Feb. 27-March 1, 2018. Learn more about the bar exam on the Supreme Court’s bar exam information page.
