The Ohio Supreme Court recognized its employees’ professionalism and service today at a courtroom ceremony attended by Justices and staff.

The 13th annual event included a presentation of the Professional Excellence Awards, the highest honors given to Supreme Court staff, to four employees. They include: Erick Gale, master commissioner in the Office of Legal Resources; Katie Monahan, graphic design editor in the Office of Public Information; Jess Mosser, staff attorney in the Office of Chief Legal Counsel; and Kelly Peters, executive assistant to Justice Judith L. French.

The employees distinguished themselves in one, a combination, or all of three categories:

  • Demonstrating superior achievement in the completion of a special project or assignment.
  • Consistently displaying professional excellence in the performance of their regularly assigned duties.
  • Displaying a positive attitude toward one’s work, fellow employees, and the constituencies of the Supreme Court.

An awards committee selected the honorees after reviewing nominations submitted by internal personnel and external colleagues.

Also at the ceremony, the Court honored 31 employees for five, 10, 15, 20, 25, and 30 years of service.
