Ohio Supreme Court Unveils Specialized Docket Interactive Map
Specialized docket courts are growing by leaps and bounds in Ohio, and now there’s a resource at the public’s fingertips to access key information about veteran, drug, and mental health courts.
The Ohio Supreme Court recently debuted a new specialized docket map, which shows what types of specialized courts exist in each county, who the judge is, and any other related information.
“The specialized docket map is an interactive and useful tool for the state of Ohio,” said Monica Kagey, manager for the Court’s specialized dockets section. “It helps in our efforts to showcase the focused work of local courts that assist individuals with substance use disorders and other behavioral health needs.”
The map also allows specialized docket professionals to identify and connect with similar communities and programs statewide to advance their respective practices. It also provides an avenue for any interested individual to effortlessly locate the specialized dockets within their own community.
“It is a tool that researchers and educators can use to locate specialized dockets within Ohio,” Kagey said.
In addition, each county’s population and poverty rate are provided so that communities that don’t have specialized courts can make a case for getting one, or established programs can compare and consult with other communities.
