Court Administrators Swear-In New Officers

Court professionals from across Ohio gathered this fall for their annual three-day conference in Columbus.
Association members brushed up on their professional development by attending Judicial College of Ohio sessions devoted to court integrity, ethics, and customer service.
Ohio Supreme Court Administrative Director Jeffrey C. Hagler presented an Ohio courts update, Supreme Court Government Relations Counsel Jess Mosser, and Interim Chief Legal Counsel John Van Norman provided a legislative and rule update session.
The Ohio Association of Court Administration (OACA) hosted sessions on employment law and onboarding new court staff.
The association also elected and swore in new officers for 2020. They include:
- President – Montrella Jackson, court administrator, Akron Municipal Court
- President Elect – Terease Neff, court administrator, Cuyahoga County Juvenile Court
- Treasurer – Jamie Schacherer, court administrator, Mansfield Municipal Court
- Secretary – Berlin Carroll, court administrator, Allen County Probate and Juvenile Court
- Past President – Lisa Deters, court administrator, Lima Municipal Court.
OACA is dedicated to providing members the opportunity for the finest continuing legal education available. Biannual conferences are held each year in the spring and fall with the conference location rotating within the state. The spring conference will take place in Akron, Ohio in May 2020. OACA brings training to leaders in the fields of court technology, personnel management, financial management, team building, court security, and other areas of interest for court managers.
