Court Makes “Access to Justice Foundation” Name Change Official
The Ohio Supreme Court has adopted amendments to the Rules of Professional Conduct to reflect an Oct. 19, 2019 legislative enactment that renamed the Ohio Legal Assistance Foundation the Ohio Access to Justice Foundation.
The foundation was established in 1994 by the legislature as a nonprofit organization designed to distribute funds to Ohio’s legal aid offices, which serve all 88 counties. In January, the Ohio Supreme Court designated the foundation as the Court’s official access to justice entity. The foundation supports initiatives to help ensure fairness in the civil justice system for all Ohioans, regardless of income.
Additionally, the foundation has funded life-changing civil legal help for more than 4 million Ohio children, seniors, veterans, and domestic violence survivors.
