Three employees of the Ohio Supreme Court have been elected to leadership positions with national organizations.
Margaret Allen has been elected vice president of the National Association of State Judicial Educators (NASJE), a member organization of judicial educators and others interested in judicial branch education. Allen is also chair of the NASJE Mentor Committee and has served on the education committee. She is an education program manager for the Ohio Judicial College, and has been with the College for 12 years.
Stephanie Hess is the new vice president of the National Association for Court Management (NACM), the largest organization of court management professionals in the world with more than 1,700 members committed to improving the administration of justice. Hess has been with the Supreme Court since 2006 and was recently named director of Court Services. Her involvement with the NACM board has included terms as director and as secretary-treasurer.
Lee Ann Ward, Bar Admissions director for the court, is the new chair of the Council of Bar Admission Administrators (CBAA), a group committed to implementing best practices for bar admissions. Ward has been an active member of the CBAA since 2002. She has been with the Supreme Court since 1996 and has served as the bar admissions director since January 2007.
“To have this type of representation in national leadership positions is a testament to the level of professional excellence among our staff at the Supreme Court of Ohio,” Administrative Director Steven C. Hollon said.
After the completion of their vice presidential terms next summer, Allen and Hess will serve successive one-year terms as president-elect, president, and past president with their respective organizations.
