More than 280 Applicants Pass February 2014 Bar Exam
The Ohio Supreme Court today released the results of the February 2014 Ohio Bar Examination, which was administered in Columbus on February 25-27.
Out of 440 applicants who sat for the exam, 283 (64.3 percent) received passing scores; out of 247 first-time applicants, 79 percent received passing scores. This year’s February bar exam results for all test-takers are comparable to previous years, which saw 67 percent receiving passing scores in 2013, 63 percent in 2012, 69.77 percent in 2011, 65.6 percent in 2010, and 61.2 percent in 2009.

The oath of office will be administered to applicants who were successful on the examination and who have satisfied all of the Supreme Court’s other requirements for admission. The oath will be administered during a special public session of the Supreme Court at 2 p.m., Monday, May 5, at The Ohio Theatre, 39 East State Street, Columbus.
Article IV, Section 2(B)(1)(g) of the Ohio Constitution grants the Supreme Court exclusive jurisdiction to regulate admission to the practice of law in Ohio. Among other duties, the Office of Bar Admissions oversees the admissions process for the Supreme Court.
