Media Advisory: Ohio Judicial Symposium on Opiate Addiction
Ohio’s opiate epidemic and its impact on the judicial system will be discussed during a one-day event in Columbus on Monday, June 30. The Ohio Judicial Symposium on Opiate Addiction will bring together judges and local leaders to learn about promising judicial practices and options for treatment, including medication-assisted treatment.
Among the speakers will be Governor John R. Kasich, Supreme Court Chief Justice Maureen O’Connor, and Attorney General Mike DeWine. A detailed agenda is listed below.
The symposium will be presented by the Supreme Court of Ohio, the Governor’s Cabinet Opiate Action Team, the Ohio Department of Mental Health & Addiction Services, the Ohio Department of Rehabilitation and Correction, and Office of Criminal Justice Services and hosted by the Ohio Association of County Behavioral Health Authorities.
