Nearly 500 Applicants Apply for February Bar Exam
The Ohio Supreme Court recently announced that 476 applicants applied to take the February 2015 Ohio Bar Examination.
The Supreme Court will administer the exam Feb. 24-26 at the Greater Columbus Convention Center. The February exam is one of two annual tests the court administers.
The attorney hopefuls had to file their applications in November 2014 to take the February bar exam. Of the applicants, 431 Ohioans from 48 counties applied to take the exam with Cuyahoga County leading the way with 88 applicants. There were 44 out-of-state applicants from 16 states and one applicant from Bangkok.
The court regulates the practice of law in Ohio, including the admission of new attorneys, the biennial registration of current attorneys, attorney discipline in cases of misconduct, and the administration of continuing legal education.
Twice a year, the court publishes a list of the names, cities, and counties or states of residence of those persons who have applied for admission to the practice of law in Ohio in the Ohio Official Reports Advance Sheets and online.
