July Ohio Bar Exam Results Released
The Ohio Supreme Court today released results from the July 2019 Ohio Bar Examination. The passage rate for the 885 applicants who sat for the exam was 647 (73.1 percent); out of 734 first-time test takers, 82 percent received passing scores. The exam took place July 30-Aug. 1 in Columbus.
The oath of office will be administered to successful applicants who have also satisfied all of the Court's requirements for admission during two special public sessions of the Ohio Supreme Court on Tuesday, Nov. 12, at the Palace Theater in Columbus.
Taking the oath at 10:30 a.m. are law school graduates from Capital University, Northern Kentucky University, University of Cincinnati, University of Dayton, and The Ohio State University. At the 2 p.m. session, the oath will be administered to eligible applicants from Case Western Reserve University, Cleveland State University, Ohio Northern University, University of Akron, University of Toledo, and out-of-state law schools.
The bar exam is administered twice a year by the Supreme Court, which regulates the practice of law in Ohio, including the admission of new attorneys, the registration of current attorneys, attorney discipline in cases of misconduct, and the administration of continuing legal education. The next exam will be administered on Feb. 25-27, 2020.
