More than 350 aspiring attorneys sat for the Ohio Bar Examination this week in Columbus.

The Supreme Court of Ohio administered the February Ohio Bar Examination to 354 prospective attorneys this week. Of the examinees, 117 sat for the bar for the first time. The applicants represent 52 Ohio counties and 15 states.

The Supreme Court will release results of the exam on April 24 at 8 a.m. Successful examinees who meet all requirements for admission to the legal profession will be sworn in as attorneys at the bar admissions ceremony on May 18 at the Palace Theatre in Columbus. A reception will be held at the Court following the ceremony.

The bar exam is administered twice a year by the Court, which regulates the practice of law in Ohio. Those regulations include the admission of new attorneys, the biennial registration of current attorneys, attorney discipline in cases of misconduct, and the administration of continuing legal education.
