Seats of Justice: Hardin County Courthouse
The next stop on the tour of Ohio’s county courthouses takes viewers to central Ohio in Hardin County.
Founded in 1833, Hardin County is a small, close-knit community. The courthouse in the county seat of Kenton is the third courthouse built there, with construction beginning in 1913.
The courthouse features terracotta walls and Tennessee marble floors. Two murals overlook the main foyer, depicting the county and county-seat namesakes: John Hardin and Simon Kenton. The building is large enough to house nearly every county office in one place.
